What I Offer
The Approach
Person-centred therapy is a non-directive approach where your own thoughts and feelings lead the sessions. You are the expert on your own life.
Although I follow a person-centred approach, I may incorporate a variety of theories and techniques based on the principle that 'one size does not fit all' — because we are individuals, and I can enable you to optimise the possibility to create change.
This allows us to meet and ensure I'm the right counsellor for you. You can get a feel for how I work before committing to anything. If it's not the right fit, that's completely okay — the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the work.
In-person sessions in a private counselling room in Newquay, Cornwall. We can work creatively in a way that suits you on any past or present issues causing distress. I hope to empower you to find your inner strength for a more positive outcome.
Wherever you are based — across Cornwall, throughout the UK, or further — I offer online video therapy sessions. Accessible, flexible, and just as effective as in-person work.
Counselling in a therapy room with Mali — our therapy dog — present to ease anxiety and enable you to focus on her during the session. This can help you talk about some of the more difficult things you have experienced. Mali offers 100% confidentiality, warmth, and natural regulation.
Weather-dependent, but I'm happy to walk in the wind and rain if you are! Sessions along Newquay's stunning coastline — with or without Mali. The therapy room can feel clinical; walking in the elements can feel freeing and invigorating. Cornwall's coastline can provide perspective, appreciation, and healthy coping strategies.
I have experience with young people and work with clients from the age of 14 upwards. We can work creatively to enable them to feel comfortable expressing themselves and release what is troubling them — at their own pace, in their own way.
No commitment, no pressure. Simply a conversation to see if we're the right fit.
